Il y a un chat ("I hear the cat" song)

Il y a un chat à la porte;
j'entends le chat qui miaule.
Il y a un chat à la porte;

Il y a un chat à la fenêtre;
j'entends le chat qui miaule.
Il y a un chat à la fenêtre;

Il y a un chat dans la cuisine;
j'entends le chat qui miaule.
Il y a un chat dans la cuisine;

Il y a un chat sur la table;
j'entends le chat qui miaule.
Il y a un chat sur la table;

Il y a un chat dans le panier;
j'entends le chat qui ronronne.
Il y a un chat dans le panier;

We got off on a tangent in 7W yesterday because of a printed pineapple. The conversation reminded me of a video cassette we watched in Craftsbury Academy French classes in the last millennium. If you like vintage and camp, feast your eyes on Téléfrançais!

Many episodes are available on YouTube.

The 7B group has been working to send positive and inclusive messages to members of our community who may feel threatened or excluded. A friend of mine in Utah sent me this sign seen on a neighbor's lawn. I second this sentiment!

Les Chansons!

"Quand trois poules vont aux champs"

Quand trois poules vont aux champs,
La première va devant,
La deuxième suit la première,
La troisième va derrière.
Quand trois poules vont aux champs,
La première va devant.

Tête, épaules, genoux, pieds (a slightly different version than we sing in class)

Amusez-vous bien!

Excited for a New Year of Discovery and Growth!

Pẹlẹ o, HELLO!
Welcome to Mrs. Considine's World Languages blog.

I am thrilled to have the privilege of sharing my love of languages and cultures with the K-7 community at Craftsbury Academy.

Through this blog you can peek into our classroom, find enrichment activities and keep in touch.

If you have a cultural or linguistic connection you would like to share with our students, I would LOVE to hear from you.

To connect with me please email or leave a message on the school voice mail. I will be working in the students' home rooms and as such won't be reachable in one given spot.

I look forward to traveling the globe on a journey of discovery with our young language explorers and helping them recognize all the wonderful ways they share so much with kids just like themselves world wide.
